The Accord's sleek black interior

February 10, 2010 – Honda’s highly acclaimed premium sedan adds new dimension to rich styling with the 2010 Accord. Presenting a well-appointed interior design for the latest Accord, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. offers an enhanced model that carries out what the market asks for. Committed to provide ultimate customer satisfaction by paying regular attention to consumers’ voice, the 3.5 liter Accord is now fitted with sleek and supple BLACK LEATHER SEATS.

The 2010 Honda Accord’s interior is delicately crafted with only the finest materials to draw out an air of opulence that matches its bold and sophisticated exterior. The Accord’s plush black leather seats provide comforting luxury that is also easy to maintain. Controls for audio and air conditioning system are also improved for better functionality and ease of use.

Beyond great styling, the Honda Accord also offers flawless performance that heeds your need for power without sacrificing fuel economy. The Honda Accord’s high caliber features make it perfect for those in control and those keen on substance. Powered by the i-VTEC (Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control), the 3.5 liter variant ably responds to your heart’s desire with its maximum power capacity of 275 ps @ 6200 rpm. Such variant is also equipped with the latest advancement in fuel-efficient technology called, Variable Cylinder Management (VCM).

With the VCM system, optimal power output, promising fuel economy and lesser harmful emissions in actual driving situations become possible by simply closing down cylinders when not needed. VCM tailors the number of cylinders to be activated to match one’s driving requirements. Such seamless activation and deactivation of cylinders from 6 to either 4 or 3 brings about the coining of its nickname, VCM 6 4 3.

“During start-up, acceleration, high-speed driving along North Luzon Expressway or uphill climbing to Baguio City, the engine operates on all 6 cylinders to unleash the full power potential of the Accord. For mid-speed driving along Subic or climbing a moderately inclined road, the engine deactivates 2 cylinders and runs on 4 cylinders. Meanwhile, fuel economy is optimized while cruising around town on moderate speed or driving downhill from Tagaytay. It is when the engine runs at 3 cylinder mode while the other 3 cylinders are closed down. It’s like having three engines in one with the VCM system! ” said Mr. Voltaire Gonzales, Department Head for Vehicle Sales and Corporate Communications of Honda Cars Philippines, Inc.

The ingenuity behind Honda’s VCM system actually complements the VTEC concept. VTEC adjusts valve timing and valve opening depending on the driving situation to optimize fuel economy and power output. Honda uses VTEC mechanism in closing down cylinder as it deactivates and closes the cylinder intake and exhaust valves. For inactive cylinders, spark plugs continue to fire up to keep the cylinders clean.

The 2010 Honda Accord comes in refined colors that accentuate its clear-cut lines and over-all modern finish: Alabaster Silver (2.4 liter variant only), Bold Beige (2.4 liter variant only), Polished Metal, Night Hawk Black and Brilliant White Pearl (3.5 liter variant only). It is available in two variants: 2.4 liter with automatic transmission comes with Php 1,680,000 price tag while 3.5 liter variant with automatic transmission is priced at Php 2,030,000. Additional Php 20,000 is applicable for the exclusive Brilliant White Pearl color.

Experience for yourself the Honda Accord’s most advanced technologies in its class.

Owner Aldren Magbuha and family pose beside their spruced up Honda Civic during Civic Republic celebration in Honda Cars Batangas

The Civic Republic celebration continues! Honda Cars Batangas recently gathered Civic owners within the province to join the commemoration of over 100,000 Civic units sold in the Philippines. Since it first entered the local automobile industry in 1991, the Civic has been at the forefront of setting a new benchmark in its class to meet the changing needs of the times. No wonder, it is one of the country’s most sought-after models in the market.

With more than 100,000 Civic owners who share the same passion for excitement and innovation, Honda builds the CIVIC REPUBLIC – a republic of like-minded people exhibiting the same character as the Civic: attractive, fun-loving, gadget savvy, reliable and responsible.

The Civic Republic celebration in Honda Cars Batangas was led by its President & General Manager, Mr. Mario Lomeda. The day was filled with exciting display of spruced up Civics and entertainment. It was truly a fun get-together among Civic owners.

The 2010 CR-V is an embodiment of the fine things life has to offer.

January 25, 2010 – Honda Cars Batangas (HCBT) officially announces the arrival of the 2010 CR-V. Radiating urbane styling, bold stance and world-class performance, the new CR-V lets you cross over to life’s different adventures. It ably goes well with various lifestyles and keeps up with the demands of modern living. The 2010 CR-V is an embodiment of the fine things life has to offer.

When the arrival of the new CR-V was first declared last December, a total of 200 customers have already placed reservations just be referring to released photographs and without even seeing the actual unit yet.

Heeding the call for continuous advancement in these fast paced times, the new CR-V lets you move into the realm of urban sophistication with its new two step front grille with honeycomb design, refreshed bumpers and alloy wheel designs. Its new styling blends perfectly with the CR-V’s clear-cut lines and over-all premium finish for a more refined and tougher look.

The interior also presents an added air of elegance with dual-tone black and silver color scheme, new seat fabric design for the 2.0 liter variant and stylish black leather seats with grey-stitch accents for the 2.4 liter model.

Experience an improved sedan-like comfort and performance, excellent safety features and great fuel efficiency benefits with the 2010 CR-V.

Committed in bringing new values in its products and services, Honda adjusted the CR-V’s suspension system for better handling and comfort. A more serene drive can also be expected with the additional seals and insulators applied for the improvement of NVH (Noise, Vibrations and Harshness) levels. These improvements simply make your CR-V experience safer, more comfortable and pleasurable.

Having the safety of passengers as top priority, the CR-V still comes with dual SRS and side airbag, with OPDS (Occupant Position Detection System), which intelligently detects weight, height, and positioning of the front passenger to identify whether to deploy the airbags or no. Meanwhile, its body is designed with the unique G-CON technology that provides an impact-absorbing structure to reduce injuries to driver, passengers and even pedestrians. The G-CON technology has been tried out at Honda’s real world car-to car test facility which happens to be the world’s first indoor omni-directional crash test safety facility.

Every Honda possesses advanced technologies that deliver spirited driving with reduced impact on the environment. The 2010 CR-V continues to generate 170 ps at 5800 rpm of maximum power for the 2.4 li variant and 150 ps at 6200 rpm for the 2.0 li variant with its i-VTEC engine technology. With its cutting-edge engine technology, the CR-V performs promising fuel economy and clean emissions that meet EURO 4 levels. Easy tracking of one’s fuel consumption is also made possible with the fuel economy and range indicators available in the liquid crystal display of the instrument panel.

Back in 2007 when the third generation CR-V came in, it successfully introduced the crossover concept in the local market. The third generation CR-V quickly captured the discriminating taste of the market and generated cumulative sales of almost 9,000 units, making it the number one compact SUV in the local scene.

Sold in 160 countries throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia and China, the CR-V has successfully created a name in sedan-like comfort and performance, ample SUV space and stylish design. From 2007-2009, the third generation CR-V is the consistent best-selling SUV in North America, also placing it among the top 10 best selling vehicles within the said period.

The CR-V has been a breakthrough model since the introduction of the first generation model in 1997, consistently leading its class to higher levels.

Available initially in the U.S. and in Japan, the new CR-V is set to reach Philippine shores by February 2010. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), always at the forefront of introducing the latest globally available vehicles to the local market, officially announces the forthcoming arrival of the refreshed CR-V as the new year draws near. Exuding sleek sophistication, solid stance and refined functionality, the 2010 CR-V puts up a bold statement that is sure to complement the demands of urban living. It simply lets you live a crossover lifestyle for all your life’s adventures.

The CR-V is uniquely designed for those who appreciate the finer things in life. It now comes with new front grille, bumper and alloy wheel designs to bring out a tougher and more distinct look. Its revitalized front end styling balances smoothly with the CR-V’s clean lines and premium finish.

Beyond good looks, the CR-V is a vehicle of substance. Under its hood lies the same i-VTEC engine that cleverly combines powerful performance with fuel economy. It comes in 2.4 liter and 2.0 liter variants which produces maximum power of 170 ps and 150 ps, respectively. As per U.S. Environment Protection Agency (EPA), the 2010 CR-V with 2.4 liter engine has an estimated fuel efficiency rating of 27 miles per gallon (11.48 km/li) under highway condition and 21 miles per gallon (8.93 km/li) under city driving condition. More than good fuel efficiency, the CR-V is also engineered to meet the stringent EURO 4 emission standard level.

The CR-V has been a breakthrough model since the introduction of the first generation model in 1997, consistently leading its class to higher levels. Successfully introducing the crossover concept with the launch of the third generation model in 2007, the CR-V provides sedan-like comfort and performance, ample SUV space and exquisite design. With the market’s warm appreciation of the CR-V’s premium quality and styling, the third generation CR-V leads the compact SUV category with cumulative sales of 8,945 units. Honda’s undying passion to present new values to the market brings forth further improvement on the CR-V’s suspension system and NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels for better ride and passenger comfort.

As a manufacturer of high quality vehicles fitted with modern technologies, Honda products are known for its reliability and high resale value. The Kelley Blue Book, one of the most trusted resources in the U.S. for used car values, recognizes the Honda CR-V as the Best Resale Value Awardee under the compact utility vehicle category for years 2009 and 2010.

The CR-V comes in different colors to match your modern lifestyle:

Urban Titanium

Crystal Black

Taffeta White (2.0 li variant only)

Sparkle Gray (2.0 li variant only)

Polished Metal (2.4 li variant only)

Brilliant White Pearl (2.4 li variant only)

The Honda Civic is the public’s undisputed Compact Sedan of the Year for three years in a row. Gaining recognition from the 2009 Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. celebrates the general public’s nonstop support to the Civic.

The Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards is an annual event that empowers the general public to vote for their favorite automobiles in the country. Now on its 5th year, 2009 AFPC winners were determined by tallying the votes generated from online, newspaper, magazine and radio polls. The Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards is a reflection of a vehicle’s market appeal and popularity.

Since the entry of the 8th generation model in 2006, the Civic is still the leading choice of the market with its refreshed styling, sporty character and advanced technologies. No wonder, over 100,000 Civic units have already been sold in the Philippines since its entry in 1991. With over 100,000 Civic owners sharing the same passion for excitement and innovation, Honda builds THE CIVIC REPUBLIC – a republic of like-minded people who exude the same character as the Civic: attractive, fun-loving, gadget savvy, reliable and responsible.

“Ever grateful for the constant trust and confidence of our dear customers, we dedicate all these achievements to them. These prestigious awards and remarkable sales would not have been possible without their support. Rest assured that we at Honda will consistently search for new ways to exceed their expectations.” said Mr. Hiroshi Shimizu, HCPI President and General Manager.

Safety extends to other vehicles’ passengers and to pedestrians. This is the essence of Honda’s tenet “Safety for Everyone”.

Safety for Drivers and Passengers

Known for their sporty and agile models, Honda makes sure that their cars’ safety features won’t be left behind either. In fact, Honda believes that fun driving go hand in hand with safe driving. Some of the features that make Honda a fun car to drive also make it a safe car to ride.

Honda’s safety measures can be classified into two: active and passive. Active safety measures are features that are manually or automatically activated in response to a safety problem or abnormal condition. Passive safety, on the other hand, involves measures that operate on its own.

Let’s start with Honda’s active safety features. Many customers associate excellent steering, handling and braking with driving performance but these qualities can also be attributed to Honda’s advance suspension design, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Traction Control System (TCS), and its anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD).

Stability and control starts with the suspension and Honda vehicles proudly stand on the acclaimed double-wishbone suspension, which provides unprecedented handling and ride comfort in all driving conditions.

VSA and TCS help keep drivers in control during an under steer or over steer condition. These features enhance handling stability while driving on wet or slippery surfaces especially during the rainy season. They also help you stay on course during acceleration, cornering, or sudden collision-avoidance maneuvers. But VSA and TCS are silent workers. With their minimal intrusion on the driving experience, most drivers don’t even notice when these lifesavers are working. The Accord and the 2.4li CR-V are both equipped with VSA while the TCS is available on the 3.5L variant of the Accord.

Honda’s ABS with EBD is another showstopper when it comes to safety. As its name suggests, the ABS prevents wheel lock-up and provides steering control during hard-braking and low-traction conditions. This is complemented by the EBD which automatically adjusts the amount of force applied to each of the brakes to maintain full control.

Moving on to passive safety features, the body structure of any Honda vehicle is designed with the unique G-Force Control technology (G-CON).

Its G-CON technology has been tried out at Honda’s real world car-to-car test facility, the world’s first indoor omni-directional crash test safety facility. G-CON is an impact-absorbing structure, which controls forces exerted on the car body and at the same time controls collision force transferred from the car body to the occupants to reduce injuries to drivers and passengers.

Another passive feature is the SRS airbags. Aside from dual SRS airbags, a more upscale model like the Accord V6 also come with front side airbags and a new-generation curtain airbags to guarantee driver and passenger safety during collision.

Safety for Others

The G-CON protects not only the vehicle occupants but also the other people involved in the collision. Its unique design reduces damage to the other vehicle involved in the collision and minimizes injury to pedestrians.

Honda vehicles have impact-absorbing front areas, the part of the vehicle most likely to injure a pedestrian and they are also designed to reduce injuries around the legs as well. The hood, front fender and bumpers are all designed to absorb impact energy.

For Honda, playing it safe doesn’t have to mean taking out all the fun. Honda’s innovative features allow drivers to experience exhilarating driving pleasure without putting their lives and the lives of others in danger. So yes, being safe can be fun and it makes fun lasts much, much longer.
